Your role as a UX Lead

As the UX lead, you will be responsible for upholding the high standards of:
  • Product design
  • User experience design
  • Inclusive and accessibility design
Your responsibilities include providing supervision as well as execution:
Supervision
  • Ensure the team’s workflow is efficient, eg: recommend suitable tools or processes, provide UX checklists/UX best practices, as well as designers are adhering to timelines and clear of deliverables
  • Lead designers in executing compelling and delightful user experience designs and effective product design
  • Oversee and review the work of UX UI designers to give them guidance and feedback and be involved in appraisal of the designers
  • Together with the Design Lead, coach the design team towards growth, ie, improve their craft by guiding them to apply research findings to derive insights, make sound UX design proposals
  • Inspire and involve designers through regular knowledge exchange sessions UX best practices, inclusive/accessible designs, emerging and latest UX trends
Execution
  • Interact with the team and clients as a creative problem-­solver who is well versed in user experience
  • Meet client to understand business and users’ needs, and discuss with team/brief team on project requirements
  • Understand project scope and outline estimated timeline, required resources, as well as surface constraints, if any
  • Collaborate with UX researchers and support in research (eg: conduct user interviews, usability tests, beta tests) as well as prepare necessary materials related to research and/or ensure materials are being delegated to the designers (prototypes, mockups, reports)
  • Create detailed wireframes and present them to client for evaluation and discussion purposes
  • Discuss solutions with the development team closely to ensure intended UX design and backend engineering work is feasible
  • Work closely with the Design Lead/designers to ensure the intended UX and UI design are seamless
  • Lead and drive the exploration of innovative UX possibilities as part of developing the company's portfolio
  • Execute multiple projects and manage timelines and deliverables positively and promptly


You'll be a good fit if you

  • Have at least 2-3 years of experience in a UX Lead role. We need someone who is confident, driven towards excellence, and ready to fly the UX flag high from the very start
  • Possess the initiative and ability to motivate, support and understand your team of designers. You must be comfortable to critique their work, yet care about guiding them towards improvement
  • Are capable of handling multiple projects with challenging deadlines
  • Can make project decisions collaboratively with team members
  • Care about the client's needs, not just the users’ needs. You know how to listen to clients and scope their requirements, communicate why our UX proposal will help them in their business goals
  • Are excellent in presentation and communication. You must be able to clearly communicate the goals of the client, needs of users, and the ideas behind your vision of the design solution
  • Are a team player. Work easily with everyone from designers to developers to UX researchers
  • Understand how to apply metrics behind the UX designs and looks out for measurement of success
  • Well-versed in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, together with other relevant design and prototyping software/tools
  • Understand front-end development of large-scale websites and/or web apps
